Process Operator - Grease Manufacturing
We areseeking a Process Operator to start immediately at our manufacturing facility in Calgary.

As well as the capacity to manufacture over 4,000,000 KGS of grease annually, we have accomplished scientists and technicians helping to expand our technologies and capabilities. Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe and orderly work area including readiness and cleanliness of working kettle
- Ensure materials gathered for production have been released by laboratory and are staged neatly near work area
- Learn the operation of flow meters and balances/scales
- Become familiar with all process controls, their limitations, and attributes
- Become familiar with the layout and operation of the grease batch sheets
- Study and be able to show the functions and limitations of the grease process manifold
- Be able to manually calculate batch dilutions and record on batch sheet
- Become familiar with steam boiler operation and safety
- Perform all scheduled kettle and boiler operations within allowable limits of the batch sheet schedules
- Maintain constant communication with shift partners and others, as required
- Be on alert for moving equipment, hot surfaces, caustic materials, and inhalation hazards
- Strong focus on HSSE on the job
Additional Responsibilities:
- Minor maintenance and preventative maintenance to equipment when required
- Other projects as required
- Participation in internal assessments and external audits
Requirements:
- 3rd or 4th class steam ticket or willingness to procure in designated time period.
- 3-year Chemical Technology or Chemical Engineering Technology Diploma OR 5 years equivalent work experience in special projects, process engineering or other positions with mechanical processes or food manufacturing
- Strong mechanical and problem-solving aptitude
- Ability to work in a Team environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Familiarity with process controls and/or laboratory apparatus
- Ability to work effectively and independently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong commitment to quality and be able to understand the impact on the business
- Ability to read and follow directions/written instructions
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Must have capacity to learn to drive forklift, if not present
- Must have capacity to learn basic laboratory skills, if not present
- Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, early start, unscheduled OT
- Must have drivers license and access to a vehicle in the event transit does not function during flex hours

This is an hourly position:
Shifts can range in start time from 5:30 am to 1:30 pm Monday to Saturday and are 8.5 hours long, with a 30-minute break for lunch.
