
Refrigeration Mechanic Journeyman or Apprentice (Oil & Gas)

We have over 45 years’ experience designing, fabricating and constructing modularized gas and oil processing facilities, compression and power generation equipment. We operate a multi branch service network across Western Canada and the Rocky Mountain States. We are authorized to sell and service Waukesha and Caterpillar engines as well as Ariel, Mycom, Cooper, Dresser-Rand, Gemini, Sullair and Howden compressors.
We are currently seeking both Journeyman or Apprentice Refrigeration Mechanics to join our growing team in our Airdrie, AB facility to perform process plant start-ups, mechanical overhauls, and refrigerant reclaiming. Key Responsibilities:
- General knowledge pertaining to start-up and operation of Petrochemical Process Plants
- Observe and test system operation, using gauges and instruments.
- Adjust valves according to specifications and charge system with proper type of refrigerant by pumping the specified gas or fluid into the system.
- Test lines, components, and connections for leaks.
- Dismantle malfunctioning systems and test components.
- Adjust or replace worn or defective mechanisms and parts, and reassemble repaired systems.
- Perform mechanical overhauls and refrigerant reclaiming.
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications.
- Keep records of repairs and replacements made and causes of malfunctions.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years’ experience in the natural gas processing and/or compression servicing industry
- Excellent administration, communication and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize
- Ability to work in independently with limited supervision
- Refrigeration Mechanic Journeyman or Apprentice (Oil & Gas)
- Customer service skills
Apprentice Level:
- Be eligible for registration as a registered apprentice; or
- Be a registered apprentice.

Journeyman Level:
- Hold a valid recognized Alberta Journeyperson Trade Certificate or a recognized trade certificate or equivalency document.
- Inter-Provincial Red Seal Certificate is preferred.
- 5 years of directly related work experience.

- This position may be required to direct, coach, and mentor apprentices.
