Our facilities specialize in precision CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication and coating. We are AS9100 Rev C certified. With a continued investment in cutting-edge machinery, we are looking for operators to match. This CNC Operator position will report to the Supervisor of the Machining Department and will be responsible for the operation of 3 and 5-axis CNC machines by performing the following duties.
Responsibilities:
- Set up machining equipment utilized by the organization to ensure equipment operations are at accepted standards for the type of tooling used.
- Study and interpret drawings, blueprints, manuals, specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations, tools to be used, materials for the job, and setup requirements.
- Verify machined parts using precision measuring instruments.
- Ensure workpiece dimensions are correct and establish tolerance criteria.
- Measure, examine and test completed parts, identifying defects and ensuring conformance to specifications and blueprints.
- Responsible for keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly and performing basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment.
- Adhere and comply with applicable safety rules and procedures
- Compute dimensions and tolerances and measure and lay out work pieces.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years experience setting up 3 and 4 Axis CNC milling machines in a production-based manufacturing environment.
- Advanced knowledge of reading drawings and specifications with an intermediate understanding of geometric tolerance and dimensions.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Knowledge and application of precision measuring instruments and the application of such instruments.
- Intermediate knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, inserts, and other accessories used on various machines.
- Adaptable to a changing work environment.
