Journeyman Machinist
We are currently seeking a Red Seal Machinist for our Victoria B.C. welding and machine shop. We offer a jobbing service to the automotive, heavy equipment, construction and marine industries.
We have been established since 1960.
Typical Tasks:
- Machining threads and keyways on shafts
- Machining cylinder rod ends with threads and weld prep
- Fabricating driveshafts from new components. Replacing ends on existing
- Build up and boring in milling machines and with portable line boring equipment
- Pins and bushings
- Re + re of components on heavy equipment and in industrial plants
- Marine propeller shafts and couplings
- Flanges and sheaves
- Hydraulic cylinder repairs
Qualifications:
- Red Seal Qualification as a Machinist
- Minimum Grade 12 Education
- Ability to read and interpret drawings
- Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude
- Valid BC Driver’s license
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Ability to trouble shoot and solve problems
