Maintenace Technician

Huntsville, ON

We are currently looking for a Maintenance Technician to work in our Huntsville, Ontario location Maintenance Department.  (This is NOT an apprentice position, however there may be future apprenticeship opportunities).

Role Overview: 

This role has responsibility for ensuring that all plant equipment & facilities are maintained in good working order through inspection, monitoring & established maintenance routines. This position will also have Die Changer responsibilities. 

Responsibilities:

• Assist the certified trades people in the maintenance department, rebuild and service of production machinery and systems in the plant facility to ensure trouble free operation
• Conduct tooling and machine changeovers, ensuring that all tooling changes and flange changes are accomplished in a timely and efficient manner
• Organize and clean out of all tooling (1/2” – 63”), as well as proper storage of tooling and equipment
• Installation of winders, extruders, saws, rollers, tips, and carts as it pertains to production line set up
• Installing the winders, vacuum tanks, and haul-offs for product mix
• Inspection and the maintenance of the tooling in proper condition. Report any repairs or damage to the maintenance crew leader
• Actively participate in all Health & Safety training and promote a safe work environment
• Participate in all LEAN and 5-S activities as it pertains to the position and job location

Requirements:

• 3+ years’ previous related experience in a manufacturing environment, or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of the position
• Strong mechanical aptitude, with good problem solving and decision-making skills
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Post-secondary education an asset
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of the team
• The ability to develop strong and effective working relationships at all levels of the organization
• Previous experience with 5-S and Lean Manufacturing
• Experience utilizing a fully integrated ERP system an asset
• Flexibility to work in other departments at the Huntsville location

We Offer:

• $25.00 - $28.00 per hour to start
• $2,000.00 Signing and retention bonus; $1,000.00 payable after 6 months’ continuous employment and another $1,000.00 payable after 1 full year of continuous employment
