Shipper / Receiver

We are looking for a Shipper/Receiver to become an integral part of our growing team! We are a family-owned small manufacturer of ornamental iron fence products and are looking to build a team that will grow with us. Responsibilities Include:

• Small manufacturing shop where you are part of a team and not just a worker on a shift
•  
• Read and interpret detailed work instructions, packing slips, work orders, etc.
• Pick and fill orders as per work orders
• Load trucks, and ensure the accuracy and quality of loads
• Inspect and verify incoming materials
• Unload incoming material/product and efficiently move to designated inventory or pickup areas
• Clean QC’s, and check component parts for any defects
• Organize floor and shelving space in warehouse used for inventory and storage of raw materials
• Ensure forklifts and charging stations are maintained
• Operate forklift and follow all safety requirements
• Assist in the completion of inventory audits.
• Maintain stock of shipping and packing materials
• Monitor inventory of raw materials and consumables used in shop and report low status to manager
• The workshop is a busy metal welding shop, with welding machines and metal fabrication machinery (dust, noise, machinery)
• Wearing and using personal protective equipment is required when in the workshop

Qualifications:

• Experience in the shipping/receiving, warehousing or logistics industries
• Forklift license
• Experience in a manufacturing environment an asset
• Experience in fence, construction, manufacturing, and/or other related fields an asset
• Familiarity with steel, fence, construction industries an asset
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to communicate effectively

Salary Range:

• $18.00-22.00/hour, based on experience
