We offer our clients full-service engineering support in the design and manufacture of custom systems to meet their project’s specific requirements.
We are currently seeking a candidate to work as a Fittings Fabricator in Huntsville, Ontario. The primary responsibility of the Fittings Fabricator is to support the manufacturing and fabrication of HDPE pipe fittings to meet the company standards through proper machine set-up and production process monitoring and control. On-the-job training is provided. This is a great opportunity to gain knowledge of the HDPE pipe industry for career growth with the company. The location of work for this role will be based at our Huntsville, ON Production Department located on Centre Street North in Huntsville, ON.
This is a permanent full-time position, based on 40 hours per week. Further information respecting the position can be found below.
The Fittings Fabricator will be responsible for supporting the manufacturing and fabrication process for the company’s Weholite Systems Solutions fittings. Duties for this role will also include, but not be limited to the following duties outlined below.
Position
- Operating machines and equipment related to the fabrication process, and use tools to cut and fit HDPE pipe fittings to the specified requirements of the customer order.
- Utilising finishing equipment to trim, grind, or buff plastic products into final form, in accordance with project plans.
- Inspecting manufactured HDPE pipe fittings for defects and conformance to customer specifications and company quality standards, both visually and through the usage of instruments to ensure quantities, lengths, and dimensions are correct.
- Ensuring the proper handling and movement of finished fittings through the production process.
- Troubleshooting production or fabrication issues as well as maintaining and making minor repairs to production and fabrication equipment, as required.
- Preparing accurate reports for managers regarding fabrication and production work completes on shift.
- Maintaining safe working conditions by ensuring a clean working area and reporting any issues to supervisor.
- Actively participate in all Health & Safety training and promote a safe work environment.
- Participate in all 5-S and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Completion of college certificate program in welding or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in fabrication or welding. Previous fitter experience is an asset.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Flexible to work 12-hour rotating continental shifts or other shifts as needed.
Work Conditions:
Please note that this job requires good mobility and involves considerable routine walking, standing for long periods, bending, and heavy lifting.
Compensation:
- $22.86 per hour, based on 40 hours of work per week
- Vacation: 15 days of paid vacation per year, to start.
- Other: Disability, Dental, Extended Medical, Life, and Travel Insurance. Company pension matches up to 5% of salary.
- Our company also offers an incentive to all Extruder Operators where they can earn up to $1.50 for each hour worked, payable quarterly.
