Part-Time Direct Support Professional - Children's Services - New Location

Position Title: Four (4) Part-Time Direct Support Professional(s) - Children's Services (Welland)

Compensation: $23.73 to $26.16 / hour

Nature of Position:

As we expand our services with the opening of a new six-child group living home in Welland, we are seeking compassionate professionals committed to making a positive difference in children's lives. Our team will provide high-quality, individualized supports that promote growth, independence, and overall well-being.

Hours and Availability:

• We are looking for someone to work a variety of shifts consisting of days and overnights afternoons weekends and holidays. 

These part-time positions expect availability for pick-up of additional support hours when required.

Responsibilities and Duties Include, but are not Limited to:

Case Management and House/Team Responsibilities:

• Assist with task assignments and contextual work explanation under the direction of the Team Lead.
• Aid individuals in financial matters such as annual budget planning and tax preparation.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of Individual Support Plans (ISP) and Person-Centered Plans (PCP).
• Facilitate medication setup and reconciliation on a weekly basis.
• Conduct home inspections and ensure compliance with regulations and agency policies.

Client Service:

• Foster client-centered approaches to encourage skill development, self-determination, and community inclusion.
• Provide personal care with respect for individual dignity and preferences.
• Implement program activities and goals while networking within the community for inclusion opportunities.

Communication:

• Maintain clear and effective communication with stakeholders through various formats.
• Provide positive feedback to clients, supervisors, and external parties.
• Ensure accurate documentation and reporting in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Teamwork:

• Collaborate respectfully with colleagues and contribute to a positive workplace environment.
• Participate in team meetings and share information for consistency of care.

Required Skills, Education, and Knowledge:

• The candidate(s) must have education or experience focused in child development or early childhood education
• Broad Sector Police clearance 
• A valid G driver's license and insurable by the agency’s insurance company.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to respond to individual needs and crisis situations in a calm, productive manner.
• Well-developed organizational and communication skills are essential.
• Experience working with and following Behaviour Support Plans (BSP’s) is considered an asset.
• Must be available to work, days, evenings, sleep shifts, weekends, and, must be committed to be available for call in shifts.
